On June 1 my kids and I got a plane in Orlando and went to visit my parents in Shreveport, Louisiana. I hadn't seen them for a couple of years, my kids a bit more recently, but I always look forward to and enjoy these mostly tranquil visits.
The purpose of this visit was because they wanted to give my daughter this car. My parents also gave my son the car he drives in much the same way. In fact, that was the last time i saw them, back in September of 2021. They do so bloody much for us.
What I enjoy the most about visiting is how peaceful, calm and SLOW everything is. I could spend hours in the sun room, drinking coffee, watching the birds in their feeders or my dad in his amazing garden. All the problems and worries go away.
And I always enjoy catching up with old friends who are still very dear to my heart!
And finally, I always enjoy seeing my sister and her family, and how big my nephew Carson is getting. He's just the sweetest boy ever.
I really hope I don't wait another two years before going back! My daughter made the entire drive home by herself, (even though her brother and I offered to help,)with only two stops and a redbull. Got us home safely in under 13 hours.
