Bitchin Slow Cooker Porkchops

I'm trying new things since I've gotten back into the habit of cooking almost every night. This time I found a recipe for these amazing slow cooker pork chops.

Prep: 10 min

Cook: 2 hours

Total Time: 2 hours 10 min

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 4 (1-1/2 inch thick) center-cut boneless porkchops
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1-3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 minced garlic cloves

Directions:

Step 1: cut small slits in a diamond pattern into each pork chop with the tip of a knife; season with salt and pepper

Step 2: Whisk all dry ingredients together in a medium sized bowl. Remove approximately 2 tbsp of the mixture and rub generously onto the chops, making sure to rub it into the slits.

Step 3: Whisk broth and fresh minced garlic into the remaining spice mix.

Step 4: Pour broth mixture into a 6 quart slow cooker; arrange seasoned chops on top.

Step 5: Cover and cook on HIGH, basting periodically with sauce until slightly pink in the center, for about 2 hours. A thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 145 degrees F/63 degrees C

Step 6: Read a good book, watch a movie or do something else you enjoy, and when it 's done serve hot with your choice of sides! I recommend something green. You know you did good when the knife isn't even necessary.

Enjoy!
